So please, come meet the hand-picked Homenclature team that is sure to impress!
My name is Julie Hudson and I have been on the Homenclature Team for five years. I started out as a part-time employee and quickly learned this was a profession that I had a passion for. I had been doing interior design work in homes for years for my family and friends. My love for Designer Fashion gave me a foundation to build this new career on along with knowledge that Amanda shared with me. I truly believe everyone’s home is an extension of themselves. It is my job to ask the questions that allow me to enhance your ideas. Going into peoples homes and picking out the pieces that best suits their lifestyle and their family is probably one of my favorite things to do.
I have 5 children. 2 are adults and live in Florida and my triplets are all Seniors at Valparaiso High School. I am also the proud grandmother of 4 grandchildren. At Homenclature I have been able to be a mother to my triplets and work in a career that I love.
It may be a total home you are looking to furnish or simply adding a piece or two; whatever your needs it will be my pleasure to help you!
Hi! My name is Lwiyhi Torres. I am 26 years old and a Backroom Supervisor at Homenclature. I moved to the USA from Mexico when I was 14 years old. My family has been living in the USA for around 25 years. I am proud of my culture and being a Spanish speaking person. I’ve been a part of the Homenclature Team for 7 years. Prior to starting at Homenclature, I was a certified forklift driver. I’ve learned and grown through my years at Homenclature. It’s always been a pleasure working with bosses like Shayne and Amanda.
On the side, my family and I have owned a video and photography company for 7 years. I enjoy working out, playing sports, and dancing. Like many other people, I’m working hard for the American dream. I will never stop learning and improving.
Dock Team/Delivery Man/Inventory & E-Commerce Manager
I began my journey at Homenclature in June of 2017. I do a wide variety of work within the company; from sending and receiving items, managing inventory physically within the building as well as with our in-house computer software, general maintenance, and upkeep both inside and outside of our building.
I am virtually hands on with every piece here from beginning to end. Starting with unloading item shipments from semi trucks in our Dock and Chute area, opening and assessing the quality of these pieces, and placing them on our Showroom Floor with the help of our designers. I love this process when I can witness our customers discovering and falling in love with our pieces. I am also fully involved with getting these pieces to our customer via method of their choice: In-House pick-up, which is where I pull/wrap the items for them to take home with them, shipping, where I pull/assess/wrap/protect the items and send them out strapped to a pallet, and delivery where we wrap and strap items into our truck and unload them into the customer’s home.
My favorite part of working at Homenclature is interacting with our customers. I love smiling and saying hello and making everyone feel welcome when I see them browsing in our aisles. I feel like we aren’t the average furniture store. I, along with everyone else on the Homenclature Team, have a genuine love and appreciation of everyone that chooses to come shop with us. I especially enjoy deliveries and I genuinely love seeing all of our customer’s faces light up with excitement when I come into their home and place their dream piece of furniture - It makes all of the hard work we do here worth it to me.
Outside of Homenclature, I enjoy relaxing at home and taking a break from it all. I love to watch movies/tv shows and play video games whilst chilling super hard on my comfy recliner in my media room. I’m a hardcore sci-fi nerd in any and every form. I love to read and write sci-fi/mystery/horror and I enjoy writing poetry. I am very involved in earth/space sciences. I love to look at the night sky and explore it with a telescope. I’m also very interested in quantum mechanics, artificial intelligence, computer science, and computer learning - Which I dream of learning and going to school for someday.
Corey has always been an artist throughout his journey. He loves to create with his hands and is analytical by nature, working diligently to manage staff and resources as a Dock Supervisor (alongside the “OG”, Lwiyhi Torres). His duties include: inventory processing, furniture repair management, customer service, data analytics, and shipping formularies. Although not a perfectionist yet, he strives to provide the utmost satisfaction through the proper attention to detail and customer service.
Before climbing the ranks of the Homenclature ladder, Corey graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2015 with a BA in Audio Design and Production. For 4 years after that he went on to build homes in the residential construction field, learning various trades along the way to add to his arsenal. Building, art, and music have always been a big part of his life, so when he found Homenclature, he knew this was a great match.
In his off time, Corey loves spending time with his girlfriend and cat. He also loves to build projects for people, skateboard ramps, and ride his skateboard whenever and wherever possible. Currently, he is working with the Valparaiso Parks Department to develop a new skatepark to facilitate healthy youth engagement using action sports.
